Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 7, 2026
1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
Spirian is an AI-powered spiritual reflection, journaling, study, practice, and companion app. It is not a medical, mental health, emergency, legal, financial, or crisis-response service.
Spirian is operated by NKCADEV Studio, led by Adv. Nathan Kummel. Until a formal company is incorporated, NKCADEV Studio is the operator responsible for this Privacy Policy. The developer name shown in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store is the entity responsible for this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Spirian mobile app, the spirian.ai website, the member area, waitlist and beta signup forms, account deletion requests, support interactions, and related services.
Privacy Contact: support@spirian.ai
Administrative Contact: admin@spirian.ai
2. Core Principle: Companion, Not a Commodity
Spirian is built to support a continuous spiritual reflection experience with your chosen AI Guide. That continuity requires storing parts of your journey so the app can provide memory, context, and a more personal experience over time. We treat this as a responsibility, not a commodity.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use your private chats, reflections, journal entries, or spiritual content to build advertising profiles.
- We use your data to operate Spirian, provide the AI companion experience, support continuity and memory, manage purchases, protect the service, and respond to support or safety concerns.
- You control what you share with Spirian, and you may request account deletion, memory reset, or data export as described below.
3. Plain-Language Summary
Spirian works by letting you share reflections, questions, journal entries, onboarding answers, and optional voice input with an AI spiritual guide. To make the experience continuous, Spirian stores parts of your journey, such as conversations, journal entries, summaries, memory records, progress data, and support records where applicable.
We use trusted service providers, including OpenAI, Google Cloud, MongoDB Atlas, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google, to operate the service. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your private conversations, reflections, or journal entries to build advertising profiles.
You can request account deletion, memory reset, or data export as described in this policy.
4. Eligibility
Spirian is intended solely for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a minor, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.
5. What We Collect

A. Account and Authentication Data
- Email address.
- Basic account status and account identifiers.
- Authentication details needed to create, secure, and manage your account.

We do not receive or store your full payment card details when purchases are processed by Apple, Google, or other external payment providers.
I. Voice and Audio Data
If you choose to use voice input, the app may request microphone permission. Your audio recording is used only to create a text transcript for the feature you requested.
Voice input may be transmitted to Spirian servers and to OpenAI for transcription. Spirian does not store the original audio recording after transcription is completed. The resulting transcript may be stored as part of the related conversation, journal entry, support review, or memory feature, depending on how you use the app.
You can choose not to use voice input and can revoke microphone permission through your device settings.
J. Feedback and Support Data
If you use message feedback controls, such as like/dislike buttons, report an AI response, or open a support ticket, we may collect the selected feedback, ticket category, reported message, nearby conversation context, timestamps, account identifiers, and technical logs needed to review and respond to the issue.
K. Safety and Moderation Data
We may process safety-related signals, automated classifier outputs, reported content, limited conversation context, and related account or technical data to help prevent abuse, respond to safety concerns, review reported content, and enforce our Terms and policies.
6. Sensitive Information and Your Choices
Important: Spirian is a spiritual reflection app. By its nature, you may choose to share information that reveals religious, spiritual, philosophical, emotional, or personal beliefs, and potentially information about your mental wellbeing.
In some jurisdictions, including the European Union, some of this information may be considered sensitive or special category data.
You control what you share. We do not require you to provide sensitive information, and you should not share information you do not want processed by an AI system or stored as part of your account.
When you choose to submit this type of information, you consent to our processing of it for the purpose of providing Spirian's spiritual companion, reflection, journaling, memory, safety, and support features.
You may withdraw this consent by deleting specific content where available, resetting memory where available, deleting your account, or contacting us at support@spirian.ai. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before the withdrawal or limited records we must retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, dispute-resolution, or compliance reasons.
Please do not enter government IDs, financial details, passwords, private access codes, or detailed medical records.
7. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide the Service: Create and manage accounts, facilitate chats, process voice transcripts, operate journals, provide daily practices, weekly studies, guide selection, and progress features.
- Provide Continuity and Memory: Allow your AI Guide to use relevant context from past conversations, reflections, journal entries, onboarding answers, and milestones.
- Personalize the Experience: Suggest or adapt guides, tone, content, study topics, practices, and responses based on information you choose to share and your use of the app.
- Manage Purchases: Validate subscriptions, renewals, add-ons, credits, and entitlements.
- Send Notifications: Send service-related notifications, reminders, or app messages where enabled by you or permitted by your device settings.
- Safety and Integrity: Prevent abuse, enforce our Terms, respond to safety indicators, review reported content, and protect users and the service.
- Improve Reliability: Debug technical issues, monitor analytics, prevent fraud, improve app performance, and maintain service security.
- Support: Respond to support tickets, privacy requests, feedback, bug reports, deletion requests, and subscription inquiries.
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, app store requirements, tax/accounting obligations, and lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not use your private conversations, reflections, or journal entries to build advertising profiles.
8. How AI and Memory Work
To ensure transparency, here is how our system may handle your data:
- Retrieval: When you send a message or use a feature, Spirian may search your past memories, summaries, reflections, journal entries, onboarding answers, or recent conversation history to find limited relevant context.
- Generation: We send your current message and limited relevant context to our AI provider, OpenAI, to generate an AI Guide response.
- Voice Transcription: If you use voice features, your audio may be sent to OpenAI for transcription. We use the transcript for the requested feature and do not store the original audio after transcription is completed.
- Storage: We store the new conversation or related app activity. If memory is enabled, we may update summaries, embeddings, milestones, or memory records to improve future interactions.
- Safety: We may use automated safety systems to classify, filter, or review content for abuse prevention, harmful content detection, policy enforcement, and user safety.
By using the AI Guide, you understand that your messages, voice transcripts, and limited relevant memory context may be processed by Spirian and sent to OpenAI in order to provide the AI companion experience.
You can request a memory reset or full account deletion within the app settings, through your private account area on the Spirian website, through the account deletion page, or by contacting support as described below.
9. Third-Party AI Processing
We use OpenAI to provide AI Guide responses, memory summaries, safety classification, embeddings, and optional voice transcription features.
What We Send: Depending on the feature you use, we may send OpenAI your current message, limited relevant memory context, journal or reflection content needed for the request, safety-related signals, text for embeddings or summaries, and audio input for transcription.
Voice Transcription: Audio sent for transcription is used to create a text transcript. Spirian does not keep the original audio recording after transcription is completed.
No Training by Default: OpenAI states that business/API data is not used to train its models by default, unless the customer chooses to opt in or otherwise configures the service to allow it.
OpenAI Retention: OpenAI may retain API abuse monitoring logs for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect its services or others from harm.
10. Sharing Data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve Spirian:
- OpenAI: To generate AI Guide responses, transcribe optional voice input, create summaries and embeddings, and support safety-related processing.
- Google Cloud: To host and operate parts of our backend infrastructure.
- MongoDB Atlas: To store app data such as account data, conversations, journal entries, memory records, progress, support data, and technical data.
- RevenueCat: To manage subscription status, entitlements, product identifiers, renewals, purchase validation, and add-on credit access.
- Apple and Google Payment Systems: To process in-app purchases, subscriptions, renewals, refunds, billing support, and purchase validation.
- Authentication Providers: If you sign in with Apple, Google, or another supported provider, data may be exchanged as needed to authenticate your account.
- Legal and Safety: If required by law, court order, valid governmental request, app store policy, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the public, Spirian, or others.
- Business Transfers: If NKCADEV incorporates, merges, sells assets, transfers ownership, or restructures the service, user data may be transferred to a successor operator, subject to this Privacy Policy or a policy providing materially similar protections.
We require service providers that process personal data for us to use appropriate safeguards and to protect user data in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
We do not allow service providers to use personal data from Spirian for their own advertising purposes.
We may update this list if we add or change service providers, and we will update this Privacy Policy where appropriate.
11. Legal Bases Where Applicable
Where privacy laws require a legal basis for processing personal data, we may rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract: To provide the Spirian service you request, including account access, AI Guide conversations, journaling, memory, subscriptions, and support.
- Consent: For optional features or voluntary sensitive information you choose to provide, including voice input and spiritual, religious, philosophical, emotional, or personal reflections.
- Legitimate Interests: To secure, maintain, improve, debug, and protect the service, prevent abuse, respond to feedback, and understand app performance.
- Legal Obligation: To comply with applicable law, tax/accounting requirements, payment requirements, lawful requests, and app store obligations.
- Vital Interests or Safety: In limited situations where processing is reasonably necessary to respond to credible and serious safety concerns.
12. International Transfers
We operate from Israel. Israel is recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. We may use service providers located in the United States or other regions, including OpenAI, Google Cloud, MongoDB Atlas, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google. Where required, we rely on appropriate contractual, legal, organizational, and technical safeguards to protect your data.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege access practices, monitoring, and debugging controls. Where supported by our infrastructure providers, data is encrypted at rest.
No method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Data Retention
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account, unless limited retention is required for legal, security, tax, accounting, payment, dispute, or fraud-prevention reasons.
- Chats, Journals, Reflections, and Memory: Retained until you delete them where available, reset memory where available, or delete your account, unless limited retention is required for legal, safety, security, support, or compliance reasons.
- Voice Audio: Voice input sent for transcription is not stored by Spirian after transcription is completed. Transcripts may be stored as part of the related conversation, journal entry, support review, or memory feature if needed to provide the service.
- Technical Logs: Retained for approximately 30 days for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and reliability, unless longer retention is needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or investigation of abuse.
- Backups: Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period, generally up to approximately 30 days, until overwritten according to our backup cycle. During that period, backup data is not used for normal production purposes.
- Purchase Records: Subscription, entitlement, transaction, and purchase validation records may be retained as needed for billing, accounting, fraud prevention, support, payment verification, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
- Support Tickets and Feedback: Retained while needed to respond to the request, investigate safety or technical issues, enforce policies, improve the service, and maintain reasonable support records, unless deletion is required by applicable law.
- Waitlist and Beta Signup Data: Retained while needed to manage beta access, waitlist communication, launch communication, support, and related records, unless you request deletion.
15. Your Rights and Controls
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights regarding your data. We provide the following controls to all users where technically available:
- Access and Review: You can access much of your account, chat, journal, and app data through the app or website where available.
- Correction: You may update certain account or profile information through the app or website where available.
- Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and associated personal data directly within the app settings where available.
- Website Account Deletion: You can also request or confirm account deletion through your private account area on the Spirian website where available.
- Deletion Without App Access: If you no longer have access to the app or website, you may visit spirian.ai/delete-account or email support@spirian.ai with the subject line "Delete My Account".
- Memory Reset: You may request to reset your Guide's memory within the app settings where available, erasing the context it has learned about you without deleting your account credentials.
- Export: You may request a copy of your chat and journal data.
- Permissions: You can disable microphone access, notifications, and other device permissions through your device settings.
Account deletion removes your account and associated personal data, except where we must retain limited records for security, fraud prevention, legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, payment-verification, or compliance reasons.
We may need to verify that you control the account before completing deletion, export, or other privacy requests. We aim to process verified deletion requests within 30 days, unless a shorter period is required by applicable law or a longer period is necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, dispute-resolution, or compliance reasons.
For data export or other privacy inquiries, please email support@spirian.ai with the subject line "Privacy Request".
16. Safety Protocol and Limited Review
Spirian is not a crisis service. However, if automated safety classifiers or user reports indicate a credible, serious, or imminent risk of self-harm, harm to others, abuse, exploitation, or other serious safety concerns, we may:
- Present safety resources, such as crisis hotlines or emergency guidance.
- Perform a limited human review of the specific flagged or reported content strictly for safety, moderation, support, legal, or policy-enforcement purposes.
- Restrict, suspend, or remove access where necessary to protect users, the public, or the service.
- Share limited information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to respond to a serious safety concern.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis support service. Spirian cannot provide emergency help.
17. Reporting AI Responses and Support Tickets
Spirian includes in-app feedback tools for AI Guide messages, including like/dislike controls and support options. You can use these tools to report or flag responses that feel unsafe, offensive, inappropriate, incorrect, spiritually inappropriate, or otherwise unhelpful.
You can also open a support ticket from within the app. Support ticket categories may include spiritual content, user experience, subscriptions and add-ons, bug reports, suggestions, feedback, and other issues.
When you submit feedback or a support ticket, we may review the reported message, nearby conversation context, ticket category, account identifiers, timestamps, and technical logs needed to investigate, respond, improve safety, debug issues, enforce our policies, and improve the quality of the app.
Reports may be used to improve content filtering, moderation, safety systems, support processes, and the overall reliability of the service.
18. Subscriptions and Purchases
Spirian may offer subscriptions and add-on credit packs through Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, or other supported payment infrastructure.
Deleting your Spirian account does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by Apple App Store or Google Play. To avoid future charges, you may also need to cancel your subscription directly through your Apple or Google account settings.
Refunds, cancellations, renewals, and billing issues may be handled by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or the relevant payment provider according to their own policies and systems.
19. External Links and Third-Party Services
Spirian may link to external websites, app store pages, payment pages, support resources, emergency resources, or third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services that are not operated by Spirian. Please review their privacy policies before providing personal information to them.
20. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Spirian evolves. We will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, or email where appropriate. Continued use of the service after the updated policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy, where permitted by applicable law.
